Four-Year Agreement Ensures Commitment to Non-Profit Scholarship Organization
Kids’ Chance of America (KCOA), a non-profit charity providing scholarship support to children of seriously or fatally injured workers, announced its new partner, Safety National, who recently committed $25,000 annually to the organization through 2018. Since 1988, Kids’ Chance has provided scholarships to children where a parent has been seriously injured or killed in a work related accident. Today, there are twenty-nine state organizations across the United States who have awarded more than 3000 scholarships totaling over 8,900,000 dollars.
In addition to their scholarship funding contribution, “Safety National provides a great opportunity to partner with a broad group of regional and national players to identify children who may be eligible for our scholarship opportunities,” says Kimberly George, Senior Vice President, Sedgwick Claims Management and KCOA Fundraising Committee Chair.
“As the leading excess workers’ compensation carrier in the market, we see catastrophic workers’ compensation claims every day,” says Safety National’s CEO, Mark Wilhelm. “We support a lot of charities throughout the year, but our new partnership with Kids Chance of America is especially meaningful. This is our opportunity to give back and support those families who are struggling financially and emotionally due to a workplace accident, and to support those children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue their dreams of a college education.”
Safety National is a leading provider of alternative risk funding products such as excess workers’ compensation, deductible casualty, loss portfolio transfers and reinsurance, and is a member of the Tokio Marine Group and is rated “A+” (Superior) by A.M. Best with a Financial Size Category of XIII.
