Like most nonprofits, Kids’ Chance state organizations are feeling the effects of the current pandemic, especially when it comes to fundraising. We estimate a collective loss of up to $750,000 in funding across the country.
This deficit threatens scholarship funding at a time when our students are more vulnerable than ever.
That’s why we’re paying it forward.
We all need some levity right now, so we’re asking members of our community to put on their best funny face to spread the word about Kids’ Chance.Using the filters provided by numerous cell phone apps, be as silly as you can, and make a video of yourself reading the following message:
I’m tagging [Name] and [Name] to join me in making a funny face and a donation to the Kids’ Chance organization in their state. Kids’ Chance organizations provide scholarships to children whose parent has been seriously or fatally injured on the job. They need our help to keep fulfilling this important mission at a time when these kids need the support the most.
Then share the video on social media. Make sure that you include a link to the state organization page on the national site or your state organization’s website. It is also important to tag the people you’re asking to join you so they see your message. You may also want to tell them that you’re going to tag them so they’re ready to respond and know what to do.
If you're looking for a great example, look no further than Bob Wilson's video which went out this morning.
