Vicki Burkhart was Instrumental in Growth of Kids' Chance
Vicki Burkhart, founder & CEO of The More Than Giving Co. and Executive Director of Kids’ Chance of America (KCOA), is the recipient of the 2023 Robert M. Clyatt Distinguished Service Award.
Named for Kids’ Chance founder Bob Clyatt, the award embodies his passion for helping children impacted by a parent’s workers’ compensation injury or death obtain the funds needed to advance their education. The award is presented annually and recognizes a member of the national Kids’ Chance community who has gone above and beyond in service of what matters most: the kids.
Vicki has been instrumental in the advancement of KCOA and our mission to provide support to the state chapters — which now spans all 50 states. Her focus on purpose-driven objectives and value delivery across programs has been critical to the foundation and sustainability model we continue to build and enhance for KCOA.
Dana Genheimer, president of KCOA, has had the opportunity and pleasure of working with Vicki for many years.
“While Vicki has served in the capacity that you would expect from a true professional and executive director in day-to-day execution of operations for KCOA, her work with the board and her impact has been so much greater,” Dana said. “She has coached our board as well as boards at the state level. She has challenged us to set strategic goals and helped us achieve those goals and she has encouraged KCOA to build sustainable growth opportunities.”
In 2022, Kids’ Chance celebrated cementing a presence in all 50 states — a milestone that was the wish of founder Bob Clyatt. This was achieved as a direct result of Vicki’s leadership and engagement with our board and the local state volunteers who make up the Kids’ Chance community. Vicki’s commitment has been influential to Kids’ Chance becoming an organization that supports the children of injured workers across America.
The award will be presented at the Kids’ Chance National Conference taking place from May 4-6, 2023, in Indianapolis, IN. The conference will be hosted by Kids’ Chance of Indiana (KCIN).
