July 23, 2015Omaha, NE – Kids’ Chance of Nebraska, Inc., established in 2013, is a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to provide need-based educational scholarships to the children of Nebraska workers who have been fatally or seriously injured on the job.On July 16, Kids’ Chance of Nebraska, Inc. awarded its first two scholarships, to Ruby Mendez of Crete & Zeb Elsbernd of Grand Island, both in the amount of $5,000.Both graduated this spring from high school. Miss Mendez is enrolled at University of NebraskaKearney, and Mr. Elsbernd will be attending University of Nebraska-Lincoln.Call for Scholarship ApplicantsKids’ Chance of Nebraska will be seeking new applicants for the 2016-17 school-year in the spring of 2016. For the child of a Nebraska worker who was seriously injured or killed on the job, this opportunity could provide critical financial assistance for higher education and open upnew possibilities for the future.Scholarship Details
