Kids' Chance of America (KCOA), a non-profit charity providing scholarship support to children of seriously or fatally injured workers, announced its newest affiliate member, SFM Foundation located in Bloomington, MN. Since 1988, Kids’ Chance has provided scholarships to children where a parent has been seriously injured or killed in a work related accident. Today, with the addition of SFM Foundation’s representation in Iowa and Minnesota, Kids’ Chance programs are present in 35 states across the United States, with more than 5479 scholarships awarded totaling over $13,817,055 dollars.SFM Foundation was created to have a positive impact on the community, and since its inception in 2008, SFM Foundation has awarded scholarships to 94 students whose parents were severely injured or killed in workplace accidents. “We’re thrilled about this new partnership and expect that by working with Kids’ Chance and its affiliates throughout the country, we’ll be able to help even more students in need,” said SFM Foundation Executive Director Dave Kaiser.SFM Foundation shares the same mission as Kids’ Chance of America, enabling the two organizations to affiliate on behalf of the children impacted by these work-related accidents.“I welcome SFM Foundation as a Kids’ Chance affiliate member and look forward to partnering with them to expand resources and scholarship opportunities for kids of seriously injured or deceased workers in Minnesota and Iowa,” said Victoria Burkhart, Executive Director, Kids’ Chance of America. “SFM Foundation has done a fantastic job in supporting student scholarships and has made a tremendous impact on the communities involved.”Download Press Release
