After losing his younger brother in the terrorist attack on the Pentagon, Jim Laychak became actively involved in creating a memorial to honor the 184 men, women and children killed at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. Mr. Laychak helped establish the Pentagon Memorial Fund (PMF) to design, build and maintain the Pentagon Memorial.We are honored to have Jim attending the Kids’ Chance of America Annual Meeting as our keynote speaker. Mr. Laychak has led the Pentagon Memorial Fund since its inception, serving as the primary public spokesperson. He has also served as the volunteer President and Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2003.Mr. Laychak developed and executed the strategic vision for the organization that enabled them to raise $25M over a four and a half year period to design and build the Memorial which was dedicated on September 11, 2008. Mr. Laychak was named one of 12 Washingtonians of the Year for 2008, recognizing his efforts in helping to create the Pentagon Memorial, the first National 9/11 Memorial dedicated in this country. He also received Fox News Sunday “Power Player of the Week” in both September 2006 and September 2008.During an evening dedicated to celebrating organizational growth and dedication to founding missions, we couldn’t be more excited to have Jim share his story as a non-profit leader.
