Receiving the Kids’ Chance scholarship allowed me to find peace knowing an organization cares about my continued education after a tragedy shattered my life.

I was grateful to receive a Kids’ Chance scholarship for my senior year at the University of Kansas. After keeping in touch with the organization, I’m able to receive another scholarship towards my master’s degree.

I’m currently starting my second term in my Master of Business Administration program at the University of Saint Mary in Overland Park, KS. I just finished my summer class, Managerial Economics, and am getting ready to begin my second 8-week class, Managerial Accounting. I’ve had nothing but good experiences so far and I’m excited to get back into the classroom after only having Zoom sessions this summer.

My post-graduation plans are working my way up in my current company and purchasing a home. I began as a Pricing Intern at my logistics brokerage and was promoted to a Pricing Analyst 1. I’d like to further my career by continuing down the pricing path.

My best college experience was being able to study abroad in China and gain hands-on knowledge and experience versus sitting in a classroom and reading from a textbook.

This scholarship and organization have helped me continue pushing forward when I wasn’t sure if I knew how. I am forever thankful.
