I would like to thank you for giving me this generous scholarship and the opportunity to continue my schooling at Eastern Michigan University.

I became eligible for this scholarship after I lost my dad in a roadwork accident in September of 2017. It was the day before my sophomore year and it was a struggle to continue my schooling. I am now half way through my junior year and this scholarship helped me pay for my books and contributed towards my tuition. I am paying for college myself so this scholarship has impacted me immensely and helped me focus more on school.

In addition to being a full time student, I am also on the gymnastics team here at Eastern. I compete in vault and floor and enjoy college gymnastics very much.

I have met many new people as well as encountering many new experiences. Learning to manage my time effectively, working hard to achieve my goals in and out of the classroom, and bonding with my teammates have all been great experiences.

Competing in college is very rewarding and the team aspect is something I enjoy the most. My freshman year we won the MAC conference championships which has been my favorite moment so far.

I am not sure what I would like to pursue as a career choice, but am looking into many different jobs and possibilities.
