Why Give

You can give the kids of injured workers a chance at a better future.

“In late 2009, my mom fell while going up a flight of stairs at work. After many surgeries, she still finds herself dealing with issues related to the fall and unable to work over 5 years later,” shared John.

John is one of our scholarship recipients, and his story reflects a central theme all our kids’ stories share: their parent was injured on the job.
Every day, an average of 14 workers die because of job injuries, which means that every day there are families whose lives have been changed forever.
Along with worrying about their other siblings and the stress of caring for an injured parent — or the grief of losing a parent — the kids can no longer count on that parent’s income, and the likelihood that they cannot afford to continue their education increases significantly.

“I realized my dream of going to school would also come with a significant amount of debt,” John said. “But that all changed when I heard about Kids’ Chance.”
Our 50 state-level organizations provide scholarships and support to the kids of workers who have been injured on the job.

By furthering their education, these kids are better positioned to pursue their desired career path and ultimately achieve a better future.

It’s our mission to unite the workers’ compensation community in support of these kids and their families.
And that’s where you come in. We can’t help kids like John without leaders like you.

Your gift enables us to provide resources to all the members of our community, develop sustainable state organizations that can consistently fulfill their mission, and ensure we reach every eligible kid.

There are many ways to support Kids’ Chance, and each one of them makes a huge difference.

“I believe I speak for all of us, both students and families that have benefitted from this organization, when I say that we are forever grateful to this organization for the support.”
